Gateway of India
A popular destination for both foreigners and locals, built in the early 1900s to commemorate the first British monarch coming to India and the place where the Brits left from in 1948 when India gained its independence. It is a very photogenic spot, but be careful of pickpockets.
Taj Mahal Palace Hotel
A gorgeous hotel visited by many important people, including Barack Obama and Oprah, and one of the sites of the bombings in 2008 that happened in Mumbai; going for a coffee inside is a great way to take a peaceful, air conditioned break after visiting the harbor.
Chowpatty Beach
A beach on the Arabian Sea where one can rent a mat and watch the sunset; the water is quite warm, and it is a popular destination for families.
Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus
One of the main and busiest train stations in Mumbai and a UNESCO world heritage site; it is an intense experience to take the train, but highly recommended; also where they filmed the famous Jai Ho final song in Slumdog Millionaire.
